FELLOWSHIP AND SERVICE

Men's Bible Study: Fridays at 7 am (women welcome, too.)

Youth Group: We partner with the youth from First Presbyterian, Oakmont Presbyterian, Southminster Presbyterian and Shades Valley Presbyterian to meet weekly on Sunday evenings. A week at Montreat for our senior highs each summer is a transformative experience. The Youth Group also meets for Sunday School.

Seasonal Events: Chili Cook-off, Easter Egg Hunt, Talent Show, field trips, What I Did This Summer, Rally Day, Advent Workshop and more.

Library: The Burgess Library provides a variety of reading materials related to questions of faith, Biblical study, and the Christian life.

Garden: Seasonal work days to enjoy our outdoor space.

Theatre on the Edge: Our quirky theatre that provides random amazement.

Strictly Social: Whether it's sporting events, movies, cultural activities or gatherings at Birmingham's many brew pubs, we get together to simply have some fun and build community.

Edgewood Eats: We pick a restaurant and get together to enjoy food and fellowship on the first Thursday of every month.

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

Handbell Choir: Under the direction of Craig Cagle, our handbell ringers rehearse each Wednesday at 5 pm. They ring in worship frequently, making a joyful noise to the Lord.

Chancel Choir: With the rich leadership of Amanda Klimko and the gifted accompaniment of Marsha Alexander, our choir always surpasses the expectations of visitors for what a small church music program should sound like. The Chancel Choir rehearses at 7 pm on Wednesdays and helps lead worship weekly.

Children's Choir: The children rehearse during the Sunday school hour to sing in worship on special occasions and always leave the congregation wanting more.

Mud Ministry: This arts and interior space team plans inventive and creative visual experiences for our worship services.

Worship Ministry: Meets quarterly to plan and prepare the worship schedule; includes liturgists, ushers, greeters, children's sermon leaders, acolytes, sound board operator, and other duties as needed.

Communion Stewards: Assist weekly with preparation of Communion at the Welcome Table.

Prayer Shawl Ministry: This group meets to knit, crotchet, and laugh as they create prayer shawls and blankets for those in need of comforting.
